Pastor Calvin Wortham was born October 1, 1961 in Shongaloo, Louisiana.  He is the second child of the late Artery and Ruby Thomas.  It is to his family that he credits as the source of his own integrity and discipline.  Having been reared and educated in the public school, Pastor Wortham furthered his education at Grambling State University and has received a BBA, BS in Social Work and is presently working on his Masters.

In May 1990 Pastor Wortham received and acknowledged his call in the community of Shongaloo, Louisiana where he was ordained on October 28, 1990 and installed as pastor of Holland Grove Baptist Church on November 4, 1990, where he has served to this date.

Pastor Wortham is married to a wonderful lady of God, Sister Brenda Crew, for 24 years and t hey are the proud parents of of three children: Brandon (wife Shonora & grandchildren Jakinsia and Jakiya) RaShad and Amrissia. The couple has also served as surrogate parents for many other children in the church and community.
As a man of vision, Pastor Wortham is revered in the community of Arcadia and North Louisiana as a dynamic man of vision, leadership, integrity and compassion. In addition to his commitment to Holland Grove Baptist Church as pastor/teacher, Pastor Wortham has numerous honors and awards for his work in the ministry and as a community activist. A much sought-after speaker, he continues to preach the gospel and speak out on behalf of the disenfranchised. Wherever God has led Pastor Wortham, He has also greatly used him for His glory. Through his obedience to God, lives have been changed and made better and countless individuals have been led to confess Christ as their Savior.But most importantly, Pastor Wortham is a saved born again believer. He is a Spirit filled, Bible believing and Resurrection Sharing believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
