100% Tithers
100% Prayers
Belief Statement:
Holland Grove Baptist Church is a body of baptized believers in the
Lord Jesus Christ, working in an inclusive effort to express Godly
love to everyone.
Thus, we, the members of Holland Grove, are not perfect people, but
rather we are people who are being made perfect; we are not the
redeemer, we have been redeemed; we are not the savior for we
ourselves have been saved. We, by the power of the true and living
God, have been saved and transformed by God. We see ourselves as
those that have been changed by God to offer Jesus Christ to all who
will believe that we have peace, power, progress, prosperity and
eternal life through the finished work of our Lord on Calvary's
Cross. Ultimately, we see ourselves as reasonable facsimiles of
Jesus Christ placed here on earth for purpose of:
Worshipping God in
Spirit and Truth ......
Working for the Lord
through Christian Service.
We believe that the Bible, the Scriptures, both Old and New
Testaments, is the Holy infallible word of the living God, are the
inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, and
complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. The Bible
being the revealed Word of God is the ground and foundation from
which all claims of truth shall be substantiated. The Word of God is
alive and quick! Through God's sovereign hand, the Scriptures have
been preserved and final authority for all Christian faith and
life. (II Timothy
3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12)
We believe that there is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely
perfect, and eternally existing in three Manifestations: Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:1-3, 26; Matthew 3:16, 17; John 1:1, 14, 10:30, 14:26,
15:26; Matthew 28:19)
We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been
conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on
the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according
to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended
into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is
now our High Priest and Advocate.
(Luke 1:26-33, 22:20, 24:46)
We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the
Lord Jesus Christ and during this age, to convict men of sin,
regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and
empower the believer for godly living and service. The Holy Spirit
is the giver of spiritual gifts to the believer.
(John 16:1-13; Acts 5:3-4; Titus 3:5; Matthew
3:11; Ephesians 1:13-14; I Corinthians 12:1-11)
We believe that Man was created in the image of God but fell into
sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy
Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
(Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:10, 5:12, 8:18-23)
We believe that all who, in faith, receive the Lord Jesus Christ as
Savior are born again by the Holy Spirit and thus become the
children of God. Salvation involves redemption, regeneration,
sanctification, and glorification.
(Ephesians 1:7; Romans 10:9-10, 5:7-11;
Colossians 1:13-14, 21-22; John 17:16-22; II Corinthians 5:17; I
Corinthians 6:19)
We believe that those persons who die in their sins without Christ
spend eternity in Hell, and those persons who die with their sins
forgiven through Jesus Christ spend eternity in Heaven.
(II Corinthians 5:6-8; II Thessalonians 1:6-9;
Revelation 19; 5-9; Revelation 20:11-15)
We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons, who
through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the
Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which
He is the head.
(Romans 16:5; I Corinthians 16:19; Ephesians
5:23-27, 32)
We believe that water baptism by immersion soon after accepting
Christ as personal Savior, is a testimony of death to sin and
resurrection to a new life and Lord's Supper is a memorial service
setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord
Jesus Christ; all true believers and only believers should share in
it. (Matthew 3:13-17;
Colossians 2:12; Titus 3:5)
We believe that each believer has direct access to God through the
Lord Jesus Christ.
(Matthew 6:9-13; Romans 8:16; II Thessalonians
5:17; Hebrews 10:19-20) |
